Sir Alexander Ramsay is the founder of Fettercairn Whisky Distillery. He was the one to get the licensed for the Fettercairn Distillery to be opened. He was a sharp-witted businessman and recruited illegal whisky makers to be his first still men. Later on Ramsay’s Fasque estate was sold to Gladstone family. Family of the famous British Prime minister William Gladstone. Gladstone abolished taxes on malt and introduced Scotch whisky to be sold in glass bottles. Queen Victoria and her husband Albert likes to dined in the local village pub at the Ramsay Arms in secret.
